89 240 back lights and brake lights issue 200 1989

Hey all,

Happy holidays and best for new years, I have issues with my back brake lights.

1) The driver's side brake light has always been a nuisance. Only works when futzed with (rotated in its socket).

2) Recently, the parking lights are not working at all. I am not sure why this happened. I had recently tried to hard wire(sodder) in some connections from the drivers side housing unit to the bulb holder directly. This workled for a little while until sodder connections came loose.

3) I am in process of getting new housing units for the back lights completely. I think this will solve alot of the problems. In the housings some of the plastic tabs are shoddy or broken off, so the bulb socket does not get a good purchase in the housing and therefore does not make good connections with the housing tabs.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
I'm thinking of soddering in the bulb sockets in place and then gluing them in also just for the week or two it;ll take til I get the new housings.

Any comments much appreciated
