Transmission problem 91' 780 700 1991

Hello all. I have a slight problem that has very recently popped up with my 91' 780. I noticed when trying to get up to speed quickly that the engine winds up and it seems that the transmission is having a hard time either between 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th. Cant really tell which one it is. When I am driving slower and not having to merge on a freeway for instance, the gears seem to shift as should.

I had a similar problem with the car about 5 years ago. It was not going into overdrive and they had to replace a solenoid and a relay. It wasn't cheap. Do you think this is a similar issue or something worse? I believe that the transmission has a slight leak but the fluid level seems fine and the fluid looks good still. Any hints?
