1993 944, 190k miles, and sand blasted glass. It now has a bad cone shaped bullet hole looking chip, one layer thick with a short crack getting longer.
Use a local commercial and auto glass shop or the dealership? Is there anything a Volvo dealership can do that an independent can not? Are the trim clips universal? With my comprehensive, I pay $50 and can take it anywhere. Experience? Both places would have an active personnel change over but the edge goes to local shop. Two people handle cars and that is all they do.
PGW, now PPG does not seem to be recommended.
Safelite ditto above.
Pilkington seems to be the best choice.
The original glass is labeled Volvo-Pilkington
Volvo glass = Pilkington or is that another global sourcing question?
The the rubber trim isn't bad. Both upper corners gone and two cracks on each side piece. I wouldn't think insurance would touch but I'll ask.
