I started replacing my front pads and rotors this morning and found the lower caliper guide pin and both 10mm hex head bolts on the caliper bracket are seized solid. I've been spraying with PB blaster all afternoon and tried adding torque, tapping with a mallet, etc. I'm also running down a blowtorch to try at least on the guide pin.
Is there anything else I should try? The 10mm hex key I'm using now seems to have some more play than before - is there a risk I could strip this?
I'd like to get the car back on the road tomorrow if possible as I'm about 3 hours away from my house. The existing rotors exceed the minimum thickness by a decent margin, so I think if I can get the lower guide pin free and put new pads on I could drive it until I think of plan B.
