Found an elusive water leak, sunroof 944. Help? 900

1993 244: The car is normally parked on slight grade, nose up. Water, not coolant, in the back seat floor, both sides, RS a little more. I have been parking it nose down for a few weeks. No water.

I did extensive water testing yesterday. Nose down, blasted everything with a spray. I was hoping to see a leak from the under-cowl water baffle. Added water to the opened sunroof and watched it drain out. Nada

Nose up, same including the sunroof both opened and closed, nothing.

Gave up, returned car to nose down, but when leveled, water gushed down like a mini Niagara Falls on to the front passenger seat, and then to the back floor. Rags were handy at the time, thank you.

The drains are good. From inside, I pushed up on the back of the sunroof and it moved. The problem found. I did take apart a 960 sunroof to get at the open close twisted cable for another car and it was difficult. I did not want to mess with a sunroof again.

I know there is a lot of information in the FAQ and the only thing I can see is simply, removing the darn thing.

Steve R, you may have played around with this. If you or anyone know of the simple way, help?

Tom
