So what do the sages say it is worth. Located in the Northeast, but originally from Oregon:
It's an '87 5 speed with 388K. However the engine is from a 93 and has about 175K on it and runs great, although it has the common piston slap when cold. The gearbox was completely rebuilt about two years ago (30K ago). At that time the clutch, throw out bearing and pilot bearing were replaced. In addition, a new timing belt and water pump were installed.
Equipped with: IPD sway bars front and rear, glass Euro head lights, custom turbo grille and fog lights, 93 dashboard, leather shift cover, sport steering wheel, heated seats, heated remote mirrors (not currently working) Working A/C, Large tach, oil pressure and volt gauges, Sony stereo with USB port for Ipod, 6x9 coaxial rear speakers, with Pioneer coax front speakers, original plastic floor trays and head-rest covers that match the seats. Black '93 trim around the windows, side running lights and newer tail lights. All of the plastic trim was removed for a cleaner look. 14" wheels with winter tires and rare center caps. Restored Virgo wheels with newer Bridgestone tires will be available for extra money.
At about 340K the following was done:
New suspension bushings all around, new gas struts front and rear, new strut bearings, new wiring harness, air conditioning was changed from the earlier type to the 92-93 type with the single switch control, larger evaporator and R134, new blower motor, heater core and heater valve, newer style power steering pump with integral reservoir. New rear axle bearings, new u-joints. New poly accessory bushings.
Last year:
New turbo type exhaust system, new voltage regulator, tune up with IPD ignition wires, coolant change and flush. Car will have a brand new windshield when sold. New front calipers and brakes. Car has ceramic brakes in the rear and drilled rotors all around. New fuel filter and fuel line.
Defects:
No rust except two smaller bubbles at the top and bottom of windshield on passenger side.
Small dent in driver's side fender near the front; noticeable, but not terribly unsightly. The paint is original except for the trunk lid, which was repainted.
Small oil leak from rear main seal,
Front seals are ready to be replaced; seals drive belts and timing belt will go with the car.
Summary:
A great looking, good running, very well maintained car. I've used Mobil 1 and Mann filters for all oil changes at every 4K miles. Redline Synthetic fluid in gearbox, synthetic fluid in rear end.
