245 Tailgate Wiring - ALTERNATIVE Approach 200

Time to replace the wiring harnesses for the tailgate AGAIN :( Lots of posts in the archives for the standard doomed to fail again replacement. I see reference to alternative approaches by-passing the hinge altogether, using coiled wire, or rubber bellows, grommets through the headliner. However, I can't find any detailed info, "how to's", photos, etc.
