52mm tach is this ok? 200

Just making sure on the install as I can't rely on memory. The back of the tach is marked + - G . Power, ground, signal. For the signal wire can I use the red/white wire behind the cluster that would normaly go to a large tach? Or was it the yellow/red wire? This would help so that I don't have go through the firewall. Also for power fues 13? The car is an 89 240dl. The wireing diagram website does not list the 52mm tach. TIA
