fuel pump, hard plastic line replacement 900 1995

While removing the "quick release" fitting on the fuel pump housing, the quick release fitting was destroyed. Today, my local Volvo dealer more or less threw up his hands and told me the part wasn't available.

Can I buy 10' of rubber fuel line at NAPA or similar and replace the hard plastic line with no ill effect? It is still snowy in MN, and I haven't had a chance to climb under the car and understand exactly where this line is routed. As always, comments appreciated!
