I just replaced a PS belt and drove about 350 miles with a couple restarts. I bought fresh gas just after I got to town.
I've had a thb-thb-thb rumbling vibration that I thought was a failing u-joint for uh... a long time. The u-joints are way older than the driveline support bearing.
Anyway, I drove 220 mostly freeway miles, with a few stops, pulled off the freeway, drove a couple blocks, then got gas, drove a couple more blocks, ate dinner for about an hour, then when I restarted the car, it seemed a bit sluggish.
Before shutting it off, everything seemed completely normal. Idle, running, everything. I even checked my mileage, and I got 24.5mpg on the drive.
An hour later, I seem to have a bad miss, and the car was boosting, but running poorly to the point where I had to downshift to 2nd to make it up a mild hill at 35mph. The (what I think is a) driveline shudder seemed worse, which makes me wonder if the "driveline shudder" is backfiring. Or maybe it was just a bit worse from the miss or long drive.
Anyway - any suggestions? What should I check first for a miss (besides the FAQ)? The exhaust is coming out in pulses, not close together regular pulses either. It make me think of a completely disconnected plug wire.
Cheers
