Oil light on, wont' go off, oil pressure?? 200 1993

I have a 1993 240 Wagon.

I swapped the head out (long story) for a B23 head. Got everything in and back together.

Accidentally ripped the wire going to the oil pressure switch. Switch was good, some splicing and got the wiring right, all was good. Light comes on with key, start engine, light goes off.

Next day redo the front suspension (last part of project). Go for one last start up run, oil light on, won't go off. Double check the switch and wiring, all is good. Light still won't go off.

Pull off the filter, it's bone dry (and yes there is oil in the car). So, I rip open the oil pan completely and pull the pump off. One of the o-rings on the pipe was pinched (forgot to replace it last time around), other o-ring is fine. Popped open the pump, found some scoring decided to replace it anyway since I ripped it all open.

New pump in, new o-rings, pipe was a little wobbly but should be ok, pump primed up.

All back together and .......................same thing. Light still on.

I'll check it officially with a oil presser tester on Monday (going away for the weekend) but chances are that will tell me what I already know, low pressure.

Help???
