1991 745 125K
The window is very sloppy in the tracks and while there is a bit of play at the pivot point on the arms it does not seem excessive (at the "X"). Pushing up at the front of the window while it goes up is the only way to get a good closure on it.
I have read the FAQ's. It mentions the possibility of bending the track to take up some of the slop, but I worry about breaking the weld loose. A track that had broken loose would be a nightmare to fix.
The FAQ's also mention loosening the four attachment bolts that hold the lift mechanism to the door, but I find that this car has it mechanism riveted to the door. Before I drill those out I was hoping someone might have a suggestion that hadn't made it to the FAQ's yet.
I have an 87 744 parts car. Will the window mechanism and track liner from that car fit the 1991?
Thanks for your help.
