My 1992 240 wagon has gradually increased in frontend vibration over the last month. It's to the point of where I can't drive it over 60 anymore. The steering wheel moves back and forth with the vibration.
I installed all new inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, and had the tires balanced and frontend aligned. The car feels tighter in the handling, but the vibration is still there at any speed over 60, and gradually getting worst.
The front struts have about 80k miles on them, and still feel stiff. There is no wheel bearing noise.
Can the steering box have any effect on this vibration? Is there an adjustment?
The car has 250k miles, and all maintenance has been kept up very well.
Thank you for your advice!
