Removing Fuel Tank - Disconnecting Fuel Line 140-160 1971

I'm trying to remove the fuel tank from the '71 145 that I am restoring. The car sat since '88 or so and has plenty of sludge in the tank. I need to remove the tank to see if it can be salvaged and to blow out the fuel line. I can't seem to find a way to remove the fuel line from the elbow coming off the front of the fuel tank. I can't tell if it's covered in original undercoating, or grime or what, but I can't seem to make out a fitting to apply a wrench to, or certainly anything to use as a counterhold for turning what I think may be the appropriate fitting. Any guidance here would be much appreciated.
