ipd rear sway bar install and original springs 444-544

Finally getting time to work on my 544 after quite a few years.
I purchased the ipd sway bar set a long time ago and now ready to put it on.
Before I do I'm wondering about the condition of my springs. When I bought
the set, there weren't any new springs available, so it wasn't really a concern.
Now I can get a set of new springs and I'm wondering if I should before I
install the rear bar. So my question is two-fold. How do I know if my springs
are sagging? Is there a measurement I can check? Or can I just assume they are
on a '63 544 with more than 250k miles on it? And secondly, I assume it makes a
difference for determining where to drill the mounting points. If I'm going to
get new springs I'd want to do that before installing the bar? I'm not looking
to lower the ride height at all, not going racing. Just looking to improve the
handling and safety.

thanks,
Steve
