Exterior door & fender repair, how to? - 1989 245 200

Ok, so I have some fender and door trim that has either broken end caps or has broken clips in the main field and I now want to repair it.

The question is how do I get the supposed end caps off to replace the clips that are in the middle?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.
