I replaced my steering rack with a Jorgen Automotive unit in September 2011. When I did the replacement I replaced the high pressure line at the same time and I flushed the lines and pump with 2qts of fluid by cranking the engine over with the coil wire disconnected.
I have been losing PS fluid slowly over the past few weeks and finally got around to pulling the boots off and fluid spilled out of the driver side boot.
I have a strong magnet hanging in the reservoir in the opposite corner of the pickup / return ports. The fluid is always pristine and there is never any debris on the magnet.
Has this happened to anyone else? bum seal? bad rebuild? Any chance of getting it covered under warranty? Jorgen has limited lifetime warranty according to the website. Has anyone used the magnefine filter in the return line?
Thanks
matt
