My mother's coolant was *really* low yesterday, about two and a half reservoir tanks empty or more, so something was wrong. I let it run and spotted a leak and I figured it was a coolant leak, but I jacked the car up today and it turns out to be a tranny oil cooler line. I don't know how to fix it and am looking for help if anyone has had to tackle this before. I was surprised, and am thinking maybe the tranny got so hot that it boiled the coolant? That would be a best case scenario, because I can't find where the water would be going. In either case, this tranny line had been repaired before and the repair has loosened up. It looks like the line got bent, or it's falling off (it is dripping, not spraying though). I don't want to touch it without some feedback because I think I could break the whole thing off, which I don't want to do. Would it be a bad idea to cover it up with jb weld? Should I try to hold the outer (14mm) flare(?) nuts and loosen the inner (13mm) fitting, then try to reattach the (pipe-threaded I assume) nuts? I wouldn't be opposed to replacing the whole thing if I can find a spare in the backyard. Thanks everyone.
