A/C won't turn on after hot shutdown & restart 900 1994

1994 Volvo 940 Turbo

I've been working some A/C issues with my 1994 940 Turbo and I've got everything fixed up and ready to go. Here's what I've done:

Rebuilt compressor
New accumulator/dryer
New hose Compressor-to-accumulator
New Orifice Tube
Fully recharged, vacuumed, new R-134 (obviously)
Brand new control panel in dashboard (resoldering did not work)

The A/C is as cold as it's ever been. I've run into an issue that surfaces on occasion. When I'm driving and I shut down the engine, if I get back in the car before the engine has completely - and I mean completely - cooled down, the A/C compressor will not engage.

It won't kick on at all while driving. The only thing that gets it to work again is a complete cooldown.

I have found a way of getting around this and keeping the A/C working. If I stop the car hot, I open the hood and let it air out completely. If I do that, it never will have an issue. Obviously, I can't do this forever, but it does keep me cool in a pinch.

I read on here and several other places about a heat-soaked compressor not engaging and folks suggested that it may be the clutch. The compressor is a rebuilt unit and has no issues.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer suggestions of what could cause this? I replaced a lot of stuff getting it going. I'm wondering if I have anything defective in what I bought or if I need to fix something else.
