Will You Please Help Troubleshoot My New 1990 240 Sedan? 200 1990

Hi Everyone,

I just purchased a 1990 240 sedan (240,000 miles) that has a few minor issues. Any ideas about what might be going on?

1. SRS airbag light is on.

2. When I come to a stop, it's almost like the car has to "catch up" after I stop. Not sure of the best way to explain this. It's like I stop, then the body of the car stops. Sometimes it has a bit of a kick too when the automatic transmission goes from first to second gear (NOT OFTEN).

3. Sometimes after I start it, it has a rough idle. Sometimes when I stop at a stop sign, it starts idling rough and the check engine light flickers. The light is never on solid or is on any time I'm driving. Only very occasionally right before it seems like it's going to stall. I can give it a bit of gas and it's fine.

4. The steering wheel shakes a little bit when I'm driving on the highway.

Overall, though, this car rides so nice and smooth. The previous owner had it from 40,000 miles, and I know it was well maintained. I had to abandon my beloved 1990 240 wagon, which was painful, and this car was my replacement. I paid $1700 and my wagon for it (the wagon needed a lot of work and had a bit of rust that wouldn't pass PA inspection), which might have been a bit high, but knowing that it was well taken care of made it worth the price.

I'd appreciate any input you can offer!

Thanks much,

Susan
