I have just completed a clutch installation on my 83 Volvo 245. I put the car back together but it will not start. In fact the starter does not even get engage and turn the engine over.
My concern is that I have re-installed the flywheel incorrectly. I forgot to mark it, and so at the time I researched how to install correctly. I moved the engine to TDC and aligned the flywheel as seemed to be indicated in the shop manuals and online forums I found (however the flywheel on my 83 did not have the indicator marking arrows like other people's cars seem to have and like some of the manuals show).
Do my symptoms seem related to the crankshaft position sensor (not even sure my car has one of these), or am I dealing with some other electrical issue? Does anyone know what year 240s started coming with crankshaft position sensors which require proper flywheel alignment?
Keep in mind that the starter does not seem to have any electricity; in addition the fuel pump does not power up when I turn the ignition on. I have double checked the wiring of the starter; and the other electronics on the car seem to be working fine.
I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thank you
