Hi All - hope everyone had a safe 4th.

A friend sold his subie WRX and had an extra gallon of Rotella T6 5w-40 heavy duty diesel oil that he gave to me for a cold beer. The Rotella also carries the API SM certification for passenger cars and Volvo manual recomends a 15w40 for severe duty.

I needed an oil change so I put it in my 1994 n/a 940 as it was free. I currently have limited Internet access (iphone only) and what I could find indicates that some swear by it while others are more circumspect.

Do I need to change out the rotella sooner rather than later or is it OK for a 5-7k Oil change interval? No significant oil loss on last two oil changes.
