Curb idle too low -- follow up to earlier message 900

Thanks for the suggestions to my earlier message. So far I have cleaned the throttle body, idle air control, hoses etc, disconnected then reconnected the battery (perhaps the computer will recycle) and looked around for split hoses. Then drove the car at highway speed about 50 miles. A very short 'U' shaped hose, one end of which goes into the large hose that connects to the throttle body is torn. I am traveling away from home so best I could do immediately was to wrap it in electrical tape. Seems to be holding.

Right now at start up idle is very rough at 4-500RPM. After warm up it smooths out some and idle rises to about 600RPM. Better than a couple of days ago but still not right. Does this point to a failed or partially stuck idle control valve??? Any other suggestions. Thank
