I've had difficulty finding a long-lasting expansion tank cap. This is the black 75 kpa version, pn 1357775.

I thought the Gates brand was doing okay, but I figured out it is leaking under pressure. Bought September 2011. That's barely two years ago!

Before this cap, I couldn't find an aftermarket that would last more than two *months*.

So this time I've bought Genuine Volvo with 2-year warranty. At least I know it will last two-years or I get a replacement.

Ridiculous how such a simple part is so hard to find well made!

I did have what I think is a warning sign. My cap has been hissing when I've looked under the hood after driving (hot engine). This turns out to be the warning sign: hissing cap = bad.

Do others agree with this generalization?
