Gaskets - Oil and Tranny Drain Plug Questions 700 1990

Through my folly, I've lost track of the ideal gasket size for the oil and transmission drain plugs for my 1990 740 GL. I'm using gaskets that are close, but I'm wondering what is prescribed. Specifically, what are the outside and especially the inside diameters of the gaskets?

As I search, a following question occurs: Do the gaskets have to be a metal (copper alloy?) or can they be some of the other options I see, such as nylon and rubber?
