Odd electrical gremlin - 1990 240 auto wagon which has been in the family for 20 years and has been well maintained. Had a charging issue earlier this summer. So far the car has received a new battery and a new alternator. This problem persisted, but could not be substantiated by a reputable garage over a 3 day period. Car ran and charged properly. The grounds were checked (not by me) and no issues. Now about 50% of the time when the car is started, the overdrive off light stays lit after the car is started. When that happens, the headlights will not come on at all. If the headlight switch is turned to parking lights, they operate normally. I do not know of any common points in either the headlight circuit or the transmission overdrive solenoid circuit. What in the world is going on here?
