recently on a long road trip the engine on this 1998 V90 ran on an almost empty oil content after 250 miles. I had to add 2 1/2 liters to bring the level up to where it should be. We drove to Las Vegas where the temp was in triple digits.
Several days after I arrived home I checked the oil again and it was at a normal mark on the stick.
Today I drove to 225 miles, and again the oil level was down.
I am wondering if other owners of this model Volvo have had this issue?
To where does the oil disappear?
I have no oil leaks, and there is no black smoke from the exhaust. There is however an odd odor in the cabin, like an oily smell. Could this be from a plugged PCV, or breather?
Appreciate any thoughts on this
