740 in-tank pump as replacement for dual pumps 200

I recently acquired a 1989 240. Its in-tank pump was inoperative, and the main fuel pump was missing. I've installed an in-tank high-pressure pump that I had left over from a 740. Any reason this shouldn't work long-term?
