Cleaning brake dust stain from hubcaps 200 1992

I have a '92 240 sedan with the dinner plate style plastic wheel covers that are stained/dirty with brown brake dust between the vent grooves. I've washed them and tried Simple Green full strength, but it only helped a little bit. Any suggestions on how to remove this unsightly stain? Thanks.
