Is there such a thing as a diagram or photo of the 1990 740 (NA) that shows what pretty much everything under the hood is? There are many items under my hood that I have no idea what they are called. And I can find no diagrams to help solve this. I read lots of comments on this site and others what chide the poster for not knowing all the important parts of the engine and where they are located, but I cannot find anything that actually shows this information.
I am looking for a hi-res photo that can be zoomed in on that shows what each part is. One for the engine itself with a separate one for all the little boxes and bits screwed down to the fender wells, firewall and front of the car separate from the engine bits would be great.
What I need is the cyber equivalent of having an experienced Volvo tech standing next to me so that I can point to anything on my engine and be told correctly what that bit is called. This includes hoses. I have all sorts of hoses under there and cannot tell which are vacuum lines and which are for other purposes.
I have the IPD "kit" for vacuum hose replacement. It is just two rolls of braided hose. Some of it matches what I have under my hood, and some hoses are larger or smaller. I have one off my throttle body that is a match, and the other is a skinny plastic tube similar to the vacuum lines on my old 1979 Mustang (like 1/8" OD hard plastic spliced into soft rubber stubs at either end).
I have no idea how this mess *should* look or what a lot of it does.
Any help regarding illustrations/photos that are properly and thoroughly labeled?
Again, 1990 740, LH 2.4, B230F
