1976 245 starts on cold start valve but will not run after that 200

so the car does not seem to be getting gas, what are some simple checks to eliminate/verify the usual issues with this model? I seem to remember there being some problem with an air control valve on a 78 240 my daughter had many years ago.
I just bought this car in this condition a few days ago as the owner gave up trying to get it running, any tips welcome as always.

thanking you in advance and with excited anticipation of getting this great car back on the road!
