wheel bearings repacked after 10 months??? 200

Went in for an oil change and my indy mechanic suggested the wheel bearings need to be repacked...

He put new ones in in January of this year, but said they should be repacked after a bit, then they should be fine for quite a while he said.

Good advice or sound fishy?

He said it would be about 1/2 labour.

Thoughts?
