I took the sage advice from the Brick Board and changed out the ICV with a bench tested know good valve. All was fine with in-town slow to medium speed operation. When stopped, idle was down in normal range.
However, when car was driven in W.O.T. (Wide Open Throttle) mode with full turbo boast the high idle symptom returned when I stopped. RPM went to 1200 at idle. I turned the car off and immediately restarted and the idle was proper.
The T.P.S. (Throttle Position Sensor) tested properly mechanically (clicking just off idle) and electrically(OHM Meter).
No vacuum leaks and throttle body is spotless.
Only thing left is E.C.U. I have no fault codes in the O.B.D. and the car runs great otherwise.
Am I heading in the right direction thinking it's a bad ECU? If it's an ECU, what Volvo part number am I looking for? I know the turbos have specific ECU's.
I have access to used ECU's on the cheap. What do you experts think?
John.
