I replaced brakes, rotors and calipers about 4 years ago. For the last 2 years, when I put the car back on the road in Nov-Dec time frame (it is garaged during the summer when I use a Vanagon), the front brakes are horrible. The pads look good, but when I hit the brakes it feels like the Brembo rotors are warped - lots of pulsating that one can feel through the brake pedal, and noise.
Last year, I attributed it to rust build-up on the rotors. So this year, it stayed in the garage, yet the same symptoms.
Last year, the pulsating and noise went away after driving the car for about 3 days. This year, it is almost gone after a few weeks.
Yet for the first few years, I did not have this problem. And I have never had it on the Van which winters in the garage for 6 months, nor on any other car.
Any thoughts? Defective rotors, defective brakes, whatever?
