How does a normal temp gauge act? 200

Just trying to figure out if my rig is acting normal or something funny is going on. We're all familiar with the temp gauge on these...the dot at the 9 o'clock position. Well mine periodically goes about an 1/8" above the dot. No where near the red zone, but it will slowly creep up and then as I drive, itll come back down even with the dot.

The car has never overheated, just looking to hear what "normal" is on these beasts!
