Hello All,
My 245 has developed a problem starting lately when the fuel tank is low. Generally, it will take 3 or 4 long cranking attempts to get the car to start. And when it first starts, it is rough and then smoothes out.
When the fuel tank is full, the thing starts up just fine and quick.
Over the weekend I installed a new fuel filter since it was overdue.
A couple of years ago I installed a new in-tank fuel pump.
I've resoldered the fuel pump relay and have ceramic fuses in the fuse panel.
I'm wondering if maybe there is a crack or split on a fuel line inside the fuel tank? So when the fuel level drops, the pump is sucking vapor and gas?
The only other thing I've read about is possibly the fuel line check valve near the external fuel pump/fuel filter might be bad?
Any suggestions or troubleshooting advice is appreciated.
