Happened on my way into work today.
This is regarding a 1964 544, B-18 12 volt car with a generator that was rebuilt right before I bought the car in November.
Started the car today, and the amp light continued to glow after starting. Revving the engine up a bit made the light stop glowing as brightly until it was just about out.
I made my first stop, and when I turned the car off, the AMP light turned ON, even with the key removed from the ignition. Strange. I started the car back up and then turned it off, the AMP light went out when I parked the car.
I drove to my next stop, this time with the AMP light glowing at full the entire ride. Once I parked, I stopped to check the car with a volt meter, but it wouldn't start back up; battery is drained.
Any ideas where to start? Seems to be obviously the generator isn't charging, but the AMP light staying on after the car was turned off is something I've never seen before.
Thanks as always!
