would a failing alternator 200

produce these sorts of intermittent symptoms?

the VR was replaced but the alternator still shows 12.4 volts after producing 14.3 for a few weeks after being first installed.

new symptoms include:

voltage dash alt light alights along with at the same time
a dead speedometer/odo
a dead temp gauge
a dead fuel gauge
a lit od arrow (turn the od arrow out with the switch and sunddenly the speedo ONLY comes on but only a 20-30mpd regardless of speed. turn on the od light and speedo goes off

otherwise the car drives along just fine.

if checked at the battery terminals 12.4 volts reads.

turn the car off come out in an hour and the cars dash lights come and go off as normal.

or

could i be looking at a failing instrument cluster voltage regulator
