The volvo is running well and keeps rolling but not in a straight line, which would really make me happy to fix. The steering wheel pulls to the right and shakes at high speed.
I measured the toe with some tips from the forum and on the left it shows toe in, while on the right - toe out. In addition to that when either wheel is grabbed at 9-3 o'clock it seems to wobble; 12-6 is solid.
Why does it wobble? Has anyone walked that road? I do not know if that can be called wobble. It is strange because both wheels move synchronized when one of them is shaken but the movement is accompanied with metallic sound and the wheel
feels loose even though both wheels move at the same time. Same can be felt when going under the car, grabbing the steering shaft and pulling it up and down - both wheels move with every small movement of the shaft but all feels a bit loose.
All the bushings were replaced not long ago; outer tie rod end was replaced, ball joints etc. All is solid. It is a ZF rack.
I pulled the boot off the rack and tried to observe the inner tie rod as the wheel is shaken but it seems to be in good shape.
What could be the problem?
