What is the proper fender & hood welting on a '59 445? 444-544

Gents,
The PO of my '59 445 installed firehose-like material as fender & hood welting (see photo below & in next posts - I seem to be able to post only 1 photo per post) . I'm thinking of replacing it with the proper materials. Can anybody assist re: what the proper material is, color, source, etc.
Thanks guys! Here in the NE it's almost car season * we're all chomping at the bit to get on the road!
