When I try to remove an exhaust manifold, particularly on turbo motors, I end up breaking a stud or two inside the head as I try to undo the nuts. I soak things as much as possible in PB Blaster several times over a day or two prior to beginning the work, and then use utmost care loosening the nuts but still, snap, the breakage happens inside the head without having used much force, so, no warning and no way to avoid it! Now a simple job necessitates head removal and a trip to a machine shop, etc. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
