This has been in the works for a year and a half, and Tuesday night, on very short notice, all pieces fell into place.
And now there is a new car in the carport. No plans to restore, just to preserve. The car is totally rust free. The engine was removed in the late '70s, the car has not driven since. It's been sitting in the desert in Arizona and southern Colorado since. Got it home and found a ~4' long bullsnake living in the trunk. It's still there :) thanks to the locations of storage, and the total lack of use, the car has zero rust beyond the surface rust you see.
I don't have the original B18, but it's possible that it's not lost, and I will do my best. For now, she'll get one of two good B20s that I've got, and an M41 of unknown condition (don't know if it's a D or a J). Probably the B20E out of the 1800E parts car, just because it's easier.
It's really a caretaker situation, and the intent is to return the car, as a driver, to the friend who's father bought it in about 1975. Pictured below are he and I (me with the hat)
Any event, it's gonna be a fun project! It's a bit of a loaner
