1991 245 keeps stalling then dies 200 1991

Well here we go again. My 1991 245 is having this issue and I had to have towed to my guy and when I get there with the tow driver it does fine! So here is what happens, I'm driving ( I drive a lot since I'm in sales) coming home on freeway. I feel my car losing power( as I press the gas it is not speeding up or moving) so I coast off the ramp and the light the car stalls then all dashboard light come on and it dies. I try to turn over and nothing. I get it started and rev it up high RPM's and then put in gear and it sputters and then dies. I try starting as I'm waiting for tow, it does same thing and won;t stay running. I have towed to my garage about 12 miles away. My guys takes a look and it starts right up nothing.

Now here is the issue, I had in in shop about 3 weeks ago for same thing. Had it towed and it ran fine for him. He would keep it running all day while working on other cars. Question is what could it be. We have replaced everything that is heat related that we were thinking that if the car got hot since I drive about 100 miles per day.

When do you just say enough and get rid of it? He is a Volvo guy for over 25 years and just works on the older stuff these days and he is the best in my area. He is stumped. I need some help if y'all can throw some ideas.
