Weird relay in ignition switch wiring - what circuit is it in? 700 1990

Howdy folks. In tearing apart my dash to do the heater core, I noticed I have an added-in relay spliced into my ignition switch's wiring.

It's a standard 30-amp fuse made by bosch, 0332204150 and it's an SPDT relay, so it's always running power to one pole or another (87 or 87a in this case).

Anyway, it's wired into my ignition switch, and I have no idea why. I'm not sure if it should even exist there. It's spliced in on two wires, with two others coming off of it cut.
It's spliced in on the Red/green and Pink wires. The cut wires coming off of it are grey and green.

I guess what I want to know is what are these wires for? The R/G is about a 14 or 16 gauge wire. There are some solid red wires that are like 12awg, but I'm not talking about those.

At least ... I think that wiring bundle goes to the ignition switch. O.o
