hi sages - have been reading the thread on engine rebuilders for a 230 with worn main bearings. late production 93 240s are referred to as having this oil squirter engine which appears highly desirable from the comments. 3 questions: does the 92 240 have this engine too or only the 93. how do these oil squirters work(shoot oil at the bottom of the pistons?) . how do they reduce wear and extend engine longevity. a big improvement on chevy 6s in the early 60s was to route an oil squirter up to the rocker arm on the top of the head to reduce wear there. bet few remember that innovation unless you are in the fud category and have been cussing auto engineering design stupidities since 59. thanks tons oldduke
