Hi, I have owned 6 Volvos since the early 90s, I have only lowered one before, it was an 1985 740 GLE. I believe I used eibach springs.. the car wasn't low enough or close to where I wanted it. Life, jobs and kids made me scrap my ambitions of completing the 740.. But Im back with a new subject, its a 79 244 dl, very boring car, but is a 4 speed and an original cherry like Red, so it has some hope...

Just did:
Rear Brakes
Oil Pan Gasket
replaced leaking fuel return hose
replaced crankshaft main seal, pilot bearing and clutch assembly
drained and filled transmission
repaired clutch release fork swivel plate
replaced washer pump
4 control arm bushings
Clutch kit
Head Gasket
Master cylinder
camshaft seal
crankshaft seal
engine mounts
front shocks and top mounts (guy before me)
all hoses
all belts plus timing belt
alternator
full exhaust system. (New lower header (2 to 1) now w one cheap muffler)

Right now in the middle of replacing drivers rocker panel & spare tire well



Long story short, I don't want to buy coil-overs or go crazy,

I was hoping someone had a tried and tested method of cutting springs and some wheel sizes that work ? maybe some diamond steels
