All Metal Heater Control Valve ? 900

In a thread last April there was some discussion of using an all metal Jaguar Heater Control valve as a replacement for the metal/plastic or all plastic 940 valve.

The Jaguar part number is CBC002536. FCP has a genuine Jaguar version for about $90 and there are aftermarket versions in the $40-$50 range. Has anyone found out if these all metal valves will work in a 940 ?

A few years ago I purchased an aftermarket all plastic valve but was wary of installing it. I decided to buy a genuine Volvo valve from Tasca - it turned out to be all plastic and was identical to the aftermarket valve. The original metal/plastic valve in my 1994 940 was still in good condition so I never replaced it. Now with 210K miles on the car, I want to replace the valve before it breaks.

A Motorcraft YG136 metal/plastic valve will work if I cant find anything better.

Thanks,

Mike
