88/89 244 no start issue 200 1988

So have an issue with my 88/89 244. Thought it was the ignition coil so i replaced it, plug wires, rotor button and cap. (figured it wouldnt hurt to change a bit of it out) Well same problem..Would start and run and then stop within a minute or 2. Noticed the white fuse holder and fuse where corroded..Touched it and it fell apart. Replaced it. Started and worked fine for a day or so. On the way to work the next day and it stalled out on me and wouldnt start. So today i went to try and trouble shoot.

When i jumped fuse 4 and 6, i would hear the fuel pump turn on and the car would fire up. So i was thinking the fuel relay. Well when i bypass the fuel relay (red wire to red yellow wire) it wouldnt start. So now im stumped. I thought if you jumped the fuel pump fuses and it would start then that meant a bad relay....but then when trying to bypass the relay i would hear the fuel pump but the car wouldnt start. So i am lost.

Basically what im trying to figure out. If i could start and run the car jumping fuse 4 and 6 (main and inline fuel pump) and it run until i pull off the jumper, but then when trying to bypass the relay (red wire to yellow red wire) would cause a no start. What could be the culprit?

Edit* Both jumping the fuses and bypassing the relay i would hear the fuel pump turn on.
