Aftermarket Taillights 700

I received my aftermarket taillight housings from IPD today. I would not purchase these about ten years ago because they had such a bad reputation for coming apart. (The center lenses would pop out and break, the side seams would break, etc.)

I do not read the horror stories about them now. Perhaps the ones that IPD carry are not the same ones made in either Romania or Bulgaria as the ones from 2003. I do not know.

What I *do* know is that these look to be solidly built of thick, durable lens material. They do not look flimsy like the ones I saw back a decade ago. The plastic is at least as thick as my OEM ones.

The price has not gone up much on the OEM ones over the past decade. These aftermarket ones from IPD seem to be about the same price as the ones from other vendors back at that time, too.

These do not have the circuit boards. Mine both are fine. No horrible ghosts, everything works, one socket is a little intermittent, but fresh dielectric grease seems to cure that one from misbehaving.

My question is: Has anyone here installed these taillight housings from IPD without the circuit boards?

Do they fit properly of will I have to do some trimming with the Dremel tool?

Will the OEM circuit boards fit them properly?

I hope that I did not just toss money into the round file.

These really look good, too.

In case you do not remember what the 1990 tail lamp lenses look like, here is the address of a photo of one.
