identifying the transmission on a 1993 940 900

Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone could tell me which model of automatic transmission my father has in his car. Unfortunately, the car is not available to look at at this moment. It is a 1993 940GL, plain jane, with cloth interior. After some internet research, I'm thinking AW71, but there has also been mention of a ZF, and an AW72.
Any help would be appreciated.
